With a mix of Victorian mining cottages, terraces, and modern homes, Radstock properties often have flues that have been very heavily used thanks to the coal mines and all that free coal many enjoyed.These older heavily used brick flues in the miners cottages have a rather quirky bend 18 foot up that has defeated all but the most experienced chimney sweeps - manys a time I have jiggled and joggled my preisely angled rod n brush round that tricky bend to be rewarded with an avalanche of soot as my brush reaches parts that haven`t been reached before!
A personal favourite spot in Radstock is the endlessly fascinating Radstock Museum, where all things miner mining related are celebrated As a chimney sweep I have a professional and also a personal fascination in the history of my local area particularly if its got anything to do with my craft!
